1. Release Description

This release contains the gLite Computing Element module v. 1.2.1. The following sections provide additional information about the release content, the module dependencies, the know bugs and issues and a list of bugs closed since the previous release. For information about installing and using the gLite Computing Element, please refer to the gLite Installation and User Guides.

2. Changes in this Release

This release includes the following changes:

Added an GSI-free version of LCMAPS to be used with the GT4 Workspace Service

5. Known bugs and issues

This release has the following bugs and issues. Bug numbers refer to the gLite Bug Tracking system database hosted on the CERN Savannah system at https://savannah.cern.ch/bugs/?group=jra1mdw .

No removal procedure is provided with this release apart from the removal of the RPMS. Any account, group or other resource created during the module configuration must be manually cleaned up.
During the execution of the CE configuration script, a number of Globus configuration scripts are executed. One of these scripts outputs the following error (BUG #5992):

This error doesn’t affect the correct functionality of the CE and can be ignored.
This release include a tech preview of the GT4 Workspace Service that can be used as an alternative to the pool accounts method for creating and configuring the user execution space. This preview can be activated by using the alternative configuration script glite-ce-wss-config-py. This script requires Apache Ant v. 1.6.1 or greater to be installed and properly configured on the server. Please refer to the Apache Ant user manual for the details

7.2.1. Release Description

This release contains the gLite Computing Element module v. 1.0.4. The following sections provide additional information about the release content, the module dependencies, the know bugs and issues and a list of bugs closed since the previous release. For information about installing and using the gLite Computing Element, please refer to the gLite Installation and User Guides.

7.2.2. Changes in this Release

This release includes the following changes:

Added installation of gLite Security Utilities as part of the CE module, no need to install it separately
An inet.d script is now provided and automatically activated to be run at boot-time. This script starts all the required Computing Element services making sure everything is running.
cemon.wms.host and cemon.wms.port configuration parameters are now arrays to allow notifications to multiple WMS nodes. predefinedSubscriptions.xml file has been also modified to have one subscription tag per wms host. Please note that this change renders previous versions of the CE configuration file incompatible with the current version of the configuration script. Make sure you upgrade existing configuration files before using v. 1.0.4 of the CE module.
Subscriptions expiration date is not hard-coded, but it's always set to six months in the future. and it's reset every time the script is run
Direct call of CE Monitor wake-up script removed, creation of Tomcat context file added instead
Fixed a bug that caused only 1 GlueCESEBind objectclass to be generated even if multiple CE-SE bind relationships were defined

7.2.5. Known bugs and issues

This release has the following bugs and issues. Bug numbers refer to the gLite Bug Tracking system database hosted on the CERN Savannah system at https://savannah.cern.ch/bugs/?group=jra1mdw .

No removal procedure is provided with this release apart from the removal of the RPMS. Any account, group or other resource created during the module configuration must be manually cleaned.
During the execution of the CE configuration script, a number of Globus configuration scripts are executed. One of these scripts outputs the following error (BUG #5992):

During the execution of the configuration script a number of warnings like the following one are displayed:

The warning are due to an internal change in the way variable substitutions in the configuration file are checked. The warning can be ignored and will disappear in a future release
