What's new:

L&B 1.10 is the final feature release of the Logging and Bookkeeping service for gLite 3.1. The most important addition is the lightweight version of the L&B harvester module (unlike the full-fledged version, the light-weight harvester does not use a local database to store the harvested results, being primarily intended to forward the information collected). Apart of that, package dependencies have been updated and the service was tuned to work better with gLite 3.2 clients.

Installation and Configuration:

No reconfiguration is required. Since this update introduces new daemon binaries, though, the service must be restarted for the update to take effect.

Known Issues:

There are a few minor issues that have been addressed in L&B 2.x and the fixes won't be backported. Most importantly bug #64964 (LB daemons restart partially fails) causing command '/etc/init.d/gLite restart' to fail. This can be worked around by replacing the 'restart' routine with back-to-back calls to 'stop' and 'start'. Also a known issue, bug #64072 (collection node parent remaining in waiting status) has already been fixed in gLite 2.x and won't be addressed in the L&B 1.x branch.
